Climate neutral gaseous and liquid energy carriers
|
GAVE is a government programme that supports the development and introduction of climate-neutral fuels in the Dutch transport sector. The programme's most important task is to support the implementation of the European Renewable Energy Directive into Dutch national legislation with respect to biofuels. This EU Directive states that, by the year 2020, 10% of the energy used in the transport sector must be derived from renewable energy.

GreenGasGrids website launched Date published: Feb 9, 2012 |
The website of European project GreenGasGrids (www.greengasgrids.eu) is officially launched. GreenGasGrids is a 3-year project co-funded by the Intelligent Energy for Europe (IEE) programme with the objective to boost the the biomethane market in both forerunner and starter countries in Europe and to establish a cross-border market. The project brings public and private biomethane stakeholders together in order to reduce the most hindering barriers and jointly setting up strategies for the promotion of biomethane injection and utilisation for heat, electricity and vehicle fuel. It focuses on the most pressing issues with regard to biomethane: sustainability, technical standards, legislation and trade. The project consortium consists of 13 national energy agencies, scientific institutions as well as industry associations involved in biomethane, natural gas, and renewable energy combining high expertise and market experience as well as widespread networks throughout the EU. The project offers various opportunities for private market actors to find business partners or service providers, be up-to-date on latest biomethane market developments and use the project’ s events for exchange of information and networking. Project partners will assist policy makers in implementing or revising biogas/biomethane support schemes. For that purpose GreenGasGrids will edit biomethane roadmaps on the national as well as the EU-level recommending pathways for this highly beneficial and promising energy carrier. If you want to find out more about the GreenGasGrids project please visit www.greengasgrids.eu or send an e-mail to: info@greengasgrids.eu. |
