GAVE is a government programme that supports the development and introduction of climate-neutral fuels in the Dutch transport sector. The programme's most important task is to support the implementation of the European Renewable Energy Directive into Dutch national legislation with respect to biofuels. This EU Directive states that, by the year 2020, 10% of the energy used in the transport sector must be derived from renewable energy.

Delft presents new hydrogen go-kart

Formula 1 test driver Ho-Pin Tung recently raced across the Spuiplein in The Hague driving the latest hydrogen go-kart from TU Delft. The Greenchoice Forze team hopes that this vehicle will win the latest season of championship hydrogen races known as Formula Zero. This latest vehicle from TU Delft is fitted with two electric motors, and accelerates from zero to 100 km/hr in just under five seconds. The first race in the new Formula Zero season will be held in The Hague on 19 August.
